Mahal Atelier began with a shared desire to create objects that feel lasting - pieces designed not for seasons, but for years of living with them.

Founded by Nidhi and Wiebke between Italy, Germany and India, Mahal is shaped by a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, materiality, and the quiet beauty of everyday rituals. What started as conversations around textiles, interiors, memory, and home slowly evolved into a collection of thoughtfully made objects designed to be lived with intimately and passed down over time.

We work closely with artisans across India, drawing from traditional techniques such as hand block printing, quilting, weaving, and natural dyeing - processes that carry the mark of the hand and the rhythm of time. We believe these methods deserve preservation not as nostalgia, but as living craft.

At Mahal, we are less interested in excess and more interested in permanence - in creating objects that become part of a home, part of a routine, part of a family history. Pieces that feel familiar from the moment you receive them, and better with every passing year.
